This took place in Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire. The full GB kit was handed out to the team members; full information relating to the Deaflympics was discussed and athletes had the chance to receive their latest ASICS products and try them on!
With many of the athletes training without the benefits of other deaf team members with them at their local athletics club, the team get-together was essentially a team building exercise.

It gave everyone the chance to talk face to face about their training sessions so far, their worries, hopes and fear for Melbourne and to share ideas and support one another. DUKA team wishes to be a strong close-knit team.
Mark Wheatley, UK Deaf Sports PR agent was able to join us at the team meal on Saturday night and had the opportunity to take several photographs the next day.

Melbourne will be ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY. Everyone is aware of this. Team DUKA is fully prepared, ready to go and all the athletes can't wait to perform in Melbourne.
It has been 2 years of hard work. The nearer we are to the Deaflympics, the more excited we are. The plans and training have been difficult; the commitments and sacrifices have been worth it.
Lets hope that all the athletes continue to remain injury free. In Melbourne, DUKA athletes aim to do their best.
