Beth Sewell wins Gold in Hammer Event

Despite the intense heat and stiff competition from around Europe; Beth Sewell was at the top of her form to win Gold in the hammer event in Sofia; she beat the Ukrainian and Czech Republic athletes into Silver and Bronze respectively. Beth outlasted all the other competitors to achieve this famous win; in temperatures not seen in Britain for some time.
Beth has been working hard in training and has shown good form throughout the season, which has resulted in this well deserved win. This win follows on from Beth's fine Bronze medal in the World Ultra Multi Events Athletics Championships in Bendigo, Australia, which did not include her strongest event the hammer.
