The Future Looks Tough for Deaf Sport
Deaf athletics in the UK is currently facing some of its toughest
challenges, namely to:
- Secure continual financial support while government funding and business sponsorship focuses on the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics
- Reach out to the increasing number of deaf children who are now attending mainstream schools as more and more deaf schools close
Deaf UK Athletics DUKA is launching a campaign to support deaf athletics
Campaign is on to Support Deaf Athletes
DUKA has launched a campaign to help get funding for
deaf athletes to train for the Deaflympics. DUKA's governing body UK
Athletics (UKA) in association with Norwich Union Insurance has created a
system for the public to:
- Vote for the organisation that the public would like to receive financial support
- DUKA needs to get 50 votes in order to win £1000 but the more votes the better as up to £50,000 is available!
