Joanne Davison

Born 16.05.1964 in England. Since injury curtailed her involvement in road racing, Joanne’s love for sport encouraged her to take up the hammer event to avoid her injury problems at age of 36! Her hard work and commitment has not only won her the Deaflympics Hammer Gold in her first Deaflympics, but since then, she has gone on to break the World Record nearly 10 times since the end of the 2005 Deaflympics. She is a true role model for both young and older generation athletes – she proves that age should be no barriers to participating in sports.
