2008 Venezuela World Deaf Athletics Championships

The 1st World Deaf Athletics Championships will be held in Caracas, Venezuela, South America 24-28th September 2008. GB will like to send a team to these championships. Qualification Standards will be published shortly. However, any athlete who is interested in representing GB in these Championships must inform GB Team Manager, Brian Kokoruwe briank@deafukathletics.org.uk before 28th November 2007.
Places for these championships are not guaranteed. You need to achieve the Qualification Standard and prove your commitment to your local athletics club we need the name of your club, name of your coach, contact details of your coach – email and phone number and you must be capable of raising the required amount of money.
It is expected that the cost for these championships will be about £1,500.00 maybe a bit less or more. It will depend on how long we allow to familiarise ourselves with the weather before the competitions starts.
The events will be: Men/Women
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m SC, 5000m, 10,000m, 110m Hurdles (Men Only), 100m Hurdles (Women only), Marathon, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, Javelin, High Jump, Discus, Shot Putt, Hammer, Decathlon (Men only), Heptathlon, (Women Only), 4x100m and 4x400m
