To raise money towards her World Deaf Athletics Championships and Deaflypics costs, Deaf UK Athlete and World Deaf Hammer Record Holder, Joanna Davison is hosting an Open Athletics Competition called “SportyJo's Opening Meeting”.
The Open Meeting will be held at Worthing Leisure Centre on 19th April 2008.
There will be a minithon for the U13 Girls and Boys:-Events Runing 70m or 600m – Throws, Shot Putt or Cricket ball - Jumps Long Jump or High Jump. The athlete must choose one run, one throw and one jump.
Minithon athletes will all receive participation medals with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals for the top three in the Girls and Boys competitions.
U15 Girls 100m; 800m; High Jump; Long Jump; Discus; Shot Putt.
U17 100m; 200m; 800; High Jump; Long Jump; Discus; Hammer and Shot Putt
U20/Sen Women 100m; 200m; 400m; 800m; 3000m; High Jump; Long Jump; Discus; Hammer; Shot Putt
U15 Boys 100m; 800m; High Jump; Long Jump; Discus; Hammer; Shot Putt.
U17 100m; 200m; 800; High Jump; Long Jump; Discus; Hammer and Shot Putt
U20/Sen Men 100m; 200m; 400m; 800m; 3000m; High Jump; Long Jump; Discus; Hammer; Shot Putt
