European Championships Athlete Selection Procedure
06/03/07
Athletes’ Selection for the July 2007 European Athletics Championships
British Trials are Cancelled
It is only four months before the European Deaf Athletics Championships (EDAC) will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria 7th to 14th July 2007. Unfortunately, because the EDAC selection timetable is very tight and does not allow us to pick the squad in May, the British Open and EDAC Trials, proposed for Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium in May 2007 had to be cancelled. DUKA regrets this.
Selection Criteria
As a result of the above, we are looking at athletes’ performances in the last couple of months, their commitment, club/coach relationships, achievement of the Qualifying Standards and ability to perform to the required standard(s), adherence to the UKA/DUKA Code of Conduct and MUST have a valid UK Passport as the key selection criteria.
For the above reasons, if you are a deaf athlete (must have a minimum of 55 decibel hearing loss in the better ear), who is keen to be selected for these championships and you feel you have achieved the above criteria, then you must get in touch with DUKA as soon as possible via info@deafukathletics.org.uk . The strict deadline for contacting us is 5pm on 25th March 2007.
Information to supply by 25th March 2007
When contacting us, you MUST provide the following details:

What is next?
